JL Architects is proud to announce the grand opening of the newest Zoës Kitchen location in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. Just a few short miles east of the JLA office, our client, Zoës Kitchen opened their newest location in the Philadelphia suburbs in mid-September. Our staff was excited to take the short trip to Newtown Square for the grand opening to see the finished project and eat some delicious food at the same time (I highly recommend the chocolate cake!)
Founded in 1995, Zoës Kitchen is a Texas-based, Mediterranean, fast-casual restaurant that prides themselves on fresh-from-the-garden recipes. The first Zoës opened in Homewood, Alabama, and now the chain has grown to 195 restaurants in 20 states, mostly located in the southern part of the country. The menu is inspired by the family recipes of Zoë Cassimus who was born in the Mediterranean and raised in the South. Ingredients are delivered fresh every day and then cut and prepared by the Zoës team themselves. Dishes are predominately grilled with an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs and lean proteins. This month, Zoës Kitchen will be debuting a newkid’s menu, offering more nutritious choices made from scratch.
Zoës Kitchen is not just a fabulous restaurant chain; they are also a company that cares deeply about their local communities. They welcome the opportunity to partner with organizations to give back and share goodness by supporting fundraising for schools and children’s groups, by on-site hosting or off-site catering of your fundraising event, and by providing gift cards for use at silent auctions and other special events to raise funds and help build awareness for your nonprofit organization. Zoës is particularly proud of their Zoës Kitchen Celebrates Children! Artwork Program which has benefitted nearly 50 schools and children’s organizations in communities from Arizona to Virginia. The program invites children to create works of art that are displayed in a Zoës location and available for “sale” to the public as a donation. All proceeds from artwork sales go directly to the participating school or organization. As quoted by Dallas Child Magazine, “The child-art lined walls say it all. Zoës is all about families with its fresh and healthy cooking, as well as casual atmosphere, where the children have just as good of an experience as their moms and dads.”
JL Architects has enjoyed a wonderful relationship with Zoës Kitchen over the years, working on their restaurants all over the United States. Being licensed in 36 states offers JLA the opportunities to work on restaurants and retailers based all over the country. We love working on projects from coast-to-coast, and we take special pride in the projects we do in our hometown. If you have happen to be in the area, swing by the new Zoës Kitchen in Newtown Square and check it out!
